Jokes apart…you only become a good leader by becoming a person who can follow through. Leaders must demonstrate this – not just in the stuff they enjoy, that’s easy. Leaders must demonstrate it in everything! Sounds easy.
It is a challenge because when asked to do something by someone else human nature normally kicks in – more excuses come out for why people don’t follow through…
1. Don’t want to
2. It’s not really my responsibility
3. Don’t understand
4. Too busy doing other stuff
Some times you have to just ‘suck it up’ and do it, even if you don’t understand the why. That shows maturity, which I think is a BIG leadership test that many leaders fail on. Agree?
