This thought has stuck with me since the other morning when I was praying.
Life can be awkward. Messy. Mostly my own doing, if I’m brutally honest but I think that’s the best way to be (not messy but honest). As much as I love Pastoring…knowing God is all over it could become my new catchphrase. I know it could sound cheesy, but Xcel Darlington is not becoming what its becoming because of me but only because God is all over it.
The Urban Dictionary gives this definition…
To be completely on top of something, much as a donkey, when standing over a waffle, covers it entirely. “Oh, that website you wanted me to finish? I’m all over it, like a donkey on a waffle.”
Thinking I might preach this thought on Sunday, very much as a word of encouragement for everyone. Sometimes we try and be all over it, have it under control, be in charge. All we end up with is stress, frustration and doubting our faith. Better to remember this…
‘It’s not by might, it’s not by power but by my spirit says the Lord’ [Zech 4:6]
