God Encounters Make a Difference

Reading through the bible in six months certainly makes for a challenge. But I really enjoy getting my teeth into reading the scriptures. They are a real good old fashioned God encounter for me, which makes them vital to my walk as a Christian.

When was the last time you had a God encounter?

Excited about Sunday as we just take a glimpse at the difference such encounters can make. God encounters have taken ordinary men and women and seen them do extraordinary things…Abraham, Noah, Jacob, Moses, Gideon, David, Paul, the Disciples and many modern day heroes of the faith too.

At some point there was an encounter which was the catalyst for a transformation. A transformation that enabled them to rise to the possibilities that God had laid out before them.

Are you ready to get to grips with God and not let go until He blesses you?
Until the breakthrough comes?
Until the healing is evident?
Until the life is won?
Until you are filled with the Holy Spirit?
Whatever it is for you…get with God and let Him have His way.

What are you believing God for today?

  1. I love this thought about wrestling with God unti we hear from Him or see change in a situation! Sometimes I know personally I do and I’m sure many of us could own up to a mediocre prayer or petition and we wonder why we dont see change in our life!
When you read about the people who have God encounters they are people who have a heart devoted to the Will of God. In their life they want to see His work done and to be a testimony to His greatness not their own desires.
These God encounters and life changing breakthoughs come from seeking Him over EVERYTHING else going on around us and THEN we see the blessing. Not even straight away but when we are ready to receive it.
I’m earnestly calling on God for Him to reveal more of Himself that His Will lines up with my desires and that as He blesses me it opens up a stream of blessings for others.
I dont want my God encounters to touch only me,but to the people in my world and the needs around me.
My heart aches for the hurting world, for the abused children, the victims of domestic violence, casualties of mindless warfare. Our own personal God encounters can send a ripple effect out into the lives of so many.
We have a responsibility to meet with God in a way that is so deep,so real and so powerful that we will never be the same again. How else can others see Him in us?
This is my desire for 2009!
