As I was praying this morning I was reminded of something I read the other day…

‘To us, our plans sometimes trump God’s purpose. However, it is God’s purpose will ultimately prevail.’

Praying and believing God for breakthrough is fine. Trying to convince God of how He should bring the breakthrough I want is not fine. I think I am becoming more careful about how I pray…yes, I ask for certain things but very often now I do find myself praying much like Jesus did in the Gethsemane.

He knew what was coming.
He prayed specifically for what was coming to be taken away.
He stayed focused though and remembered that it was not about his own will but about doing the will of the Father.

That is an extremely difficult prayer to pray but I am trying.

How good are you at keeping Gods purposes in view rather than your own?
