When you look back on the past 12 months is it with a smile or a scowl? Is it with a sense of appreciation or frustration?

There will have been good days and then a whole bunch of those ‘other days.’ I guess it’s all a matter of how we look at things.

Good and bad happens to us all. Recently someone mentioned to me how they had had their worst year ever. Followed quickly by a commitment to stay in faith. For what it’s worth, I like that attitude. More importantly I think God loves it when he sees it.

Too often we choose to run and hide when God is wanting us to stand and fight. Sometimes we blame others when it was our choices that took us on a certain path. Other circumstances were beyond our control and just happened.

Don’t give up amidst the difficult times. I recognise that is not easy and don’t want to sound dismissive of all that has happened and is happening in your life.

Hold on to your faith. In all times we have faith. In all times we fight with it, we battle through with it. That’s where we find hope, where I have discovered the rewards of my faith in God.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭2-4‬ NIV)

2015 will be the year of the fight.
The fight for your faith.
The fight of your faith.
The fight that needs your faith.
The good fight of faith.

However you want to put it, it’s about time we got ready for it. Stand up. Chest out. Be strong and of good courage. We have not gone this way before but by holding to our faith we will be ready for the adventure of another 12 months.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (‭I Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ NKJV)

Praying for a blessed and prosperous 2015 for you.
