Isaiah was stood in the temple, probably the largest building he had ever been in. Then there was movement and spiritual beings entered crying out ‘Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts’.
What had made them tremble? What caused them to cry out in such a manner?
Isaiah describes what they saw. The Lord, on His throne, high and lifted up, with the train of His robe filling the temple. Imagine if you will how just a glimpse of the edge of the train of His robe had them completely overwhelmed. A glimpse of the holiness of God was enough to have angels trembling and bring Isaiah to his knees and feel ‘undone’.
Two questions are on my mind…
What if I really experienced the holiness of God?
What should my life really look like in the light of His holiness?
I am undone yet I am thankful.
I am aware of my failings yet I am ready to change.
I know that my life needs to reflect His holiness. In the way that God is pure, perfect and separate, my life should model the same. My life is one that aspires to be pure, perfect and separate. To have a walk that pleases God.
Such a life is impossible without faith to live it and the Holy Spirit to lead me.
What do you think?
