Read, Look, Learn & Appy ~ Pt 2

Did you read Psalm 37? Did you see how full it is of great words and promises from God? Did you gain encouragement from the Word? Did you see how much God is on your side?

Look at the phrases used:

  • Fret not
  • Don’t be envious
  • Trust in the Lord
  • Delight yourself in the Lord
  • Commit your ways to Him
  • Be still
  • Refrain from anger

If I spend my time looking around at how others are doing and I begin to compare my life with theirs, then I may well experience some of these emotions. Yet Gods word is simple ~ don’t. Instead trust me, commit to me, delight in me and I will take of the rest.

Those who wait on God inherit

Those who remain meek shall have peace

The Lord will uphold those who stay right with Him

He will establish my steps

This is what the word of God always does for me ~ it reminds that in staying close to God, He stays close to me, protects me, blesses me and helps me as I continue to walk through life. There really is no better place to be.

“The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:39-40‬ ‭ESV‬‬

What did God say to you?

  1. God spoke to me about continuing to TRUST in him which means having full confidence and relying totally on him. Every day to get into a habit of committing everything I do to him ( verse 5). As I do this God keep me safe and bless me. Verse 3 in my version says Trust in the Lord and DO GOOD. I understood this as doing good to God by following his commands and doing good to others. LOVE The Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.
Also loving others but first you have to Love yourself by eating well, sleeping well and exercising.
Finally he spoke to me about being Still in his presence- verse 7.
Thanks for inspiring me to look again at this Psalm.
