How Can I Help You Best?

You read my blog, some of you even know me personally, so I am asking you a question, one that could just help me shape the pages of this blog for the future.

Allowing for how well you know me or what you have read here – what do I know? If you were coming to me for something, what would it be? What problems would you come to me to for help? If you had a question, what would it be about?

I would value your feedback. Please complete the simple 3 question survey by clicking on the link below…

How Can I Help You Best?

Thanks for helping me as I look to make changes to this site of the next few weeks.

My 2015 Reader Survey

I really want to make my blog better and ensure that it stays relevant to the needs and interests of those reading it. To do that, I would love to know more about YOU. As a result, I have created my 2015 Reader Survey.

In will only take you a few minutes to fill out, so I hope you will. In doing so, you are helping me to help you, because then I can make the content more of what you want.

Thanks for your input, its important to me. The survey is easy to fill out and the results are completely anonymous. I can’t tell who said what and as I said before, it will only take five minutes of your time.

What to Talk About?

Been spending time recently thinking about the future of this blog and what I should write about.

I really enjoy writing and have a desire for it to be a resource to others. To this end I am looking to revamp the site, work on what resources I can offer and make sure that what I share is helpful, whether you visit once or more regularly.

A readers survey will be put up soon and I look forward to getting your constructive feedback.

In the meantime ~ if you have some thoughts then please leave a comment below. This blog is about you and helping you on your journey so I look forward to hearing from you.

  • What do you like about the blog?
  • How can it help you more?
  • What do enjoy reading the most?
  • Any other thoughts

Thanks. Julian

What’s Your Role?

There is a vision to be gone after. It’s big enough for everyone to be a part of. There is room enough for all of us to flourish. Yet it just doesn’t seem to be happening. It doesn’t seem to be getting any closer.

Question: what are we bringing to the table? How are we adding value? What is our contribution to make the picture complete?

It’s not always about having a stated role. In fact in most case it’s not about title. What’s my role is less about title and more about the person I am. It’s not enough to just make up the numbers. Maybe my role to aid the vision is about WHO I AM when I show up.

A willingness to work

Able to lead and when needed, to be led

Less fussiness on my part

These are choice on my part. However, my desire for ‘a role’ can often get in the way of me just being a person God can use to get ‘whatever’ needs doing, done. Am I fulfilling my role? Am I bringing the right kind of character to the table?

What would you say that you bring?

Thoughts From Today: Ready to Resource

Encouraged from today and the response to the messages spoken around the thoughts of us being a resource centre.

As the people of God, we should be the ones who those we work with are coming to for an answer. Why? We have access to a resource they do not.

As the people God, we may be comfortable in being a resource in one area but what about all the other gems we are keeping safely to one side, unwilling to share. Every part of who we are is worth something and is an available resource for God.

As the people of God we are part of His church, the hope of the world. We are privileged to play our part by bringing our resource in and allowing it to be put to use.

How can we be a better resource this week?

Something Out of Nothing

When it comes to being a resource two things are available – everything that we bring added to everything that God brings.

Often we look down on what we can bring. We don’t think our talent or treasure is up to much. Our past, the circumstances we have travelled through, all of our experiences, we just think they are not of any great value.

Here’s the important thing to remember: God can make SOMETHING out of NOTHING.

In 2 Kings 4 Elisha asked the widow what she had in her house. What resource did she have available? Her first reply was not very positive. ‘Nothing‘. Followed quickly by ‘I have a little oil’.

I think we can be like this. We don’t recognise what we have and maybe even despise what we can bring. Yet, when we bring our little, our nothing, God can make something out of it. We may have to search for it a little more but there is resource in us that God wants to get out.

His desire is to get resource IN and THROUGH us.

It’s about becoming a conduit of resource and not a hoarder. Then the glory of God will rise upon us, the light of His countenance will shine on us and that’s a great place to find yourself in.

What resource do you need to let God get IN you and THROUGH you?
