What Are You Looking For?

God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God [Psalm 53:2]

What are people looking for? Let’s be honest we are looking for lots of things. Material things. Self-confidence things. Adventurous things. Spiritual things. Emotional things. Career things. Health things. Lifestyle things. The meaning of life?

What are people not looking for? In reality, most people are not searching for God, not even in the hunt for answers to spiritual matters. This is usually more about living a life that matters, being right with people and not holding grudges.

The best place to live the fulfilled kind of life is from a place where God is at the centre of every matter in our life. Living such a life is the life God designed us to live and He is on the look out for such people.

What are you looking for? LOOK FOR GOD. When we do so with an open heart, a willingness to discover Him, then we will find Him and we will realise that God has had His eye on us all the time.

He loves you. He is for you. He has given everything for you. He wants you to know Him. He wants to be involved in every aspect of your life. He is good. He is faithful. He is with you.

This week, let’s take time each day to focus on one of these incredible truths about God, thanking Him for being this and inviting Him in to all the different things going on in our life.

3 Thoughts on Gods Steadfast Love

“Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? The steadfast love of God endures all the day….But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.” Psalms‬ ‭52:1 & 8‬ ‭ESV

To be steadfast is to be resolute or dutifully firm and unwavering. It speaks of strength, loyalty, dependability and constancy. Great characteristics of God we would do well to be mindful of this week.

3 thoughts come to mind when I think of Gods steadfast love which will be great to meditate on during this week when spending time with Him:

1. To trust in the steadfast love of God is to trust in God and that He is steadfast. Maybe we can only trust in the steadfast love of God because He is steadfast.

2. As He is steadfast toward us, we can then be steadfast toward others. As God is strong, loyal, dependable and constant, so can we be, wherever we find ourselves.

3. To be steadfast due to the steadfast love of God is to flourish and bloom (like an olive tree).

Think of the difference we can make as we walk with a desire to display the steadfast love of God during this week to those around us.

Father God, thank You for Your steadfast love, the kind which never wavers towards me. Help me this week to be the same towards those in my life. Amen

Great Day

I am fan of local church. I agree with Pastor Bill Hybels when he says it’s the hope of the world. So I loved today, in my local church, worshipping God and being built up by the Word.

God is…good and God is great. He is BIG enough to handle our problems. All that we need Him to be, He is that. He is great and does wondrous acts. He is great and greatly to be praised. It’s about trusting His character above our experiences of Him.

God is…my Father. That’s a revelation that doesn’t come easily to everyone but one we need to get. We can be disappointed by our own Father but without realising it not notice that God has filled our lives with many Fathers. Thanks to Rachael for sharing her journey in this in such an honest way.

Plus the worship tonight was just incredible. There was a real sweet atmosphere and I believe that God was doing some work in peoples lives.

All I can do is encourage you Xcel to be in Church these next two Sundays as we continue to unpack the nature and character of God. God is…love, God is…with me, God is…holy.

‘I AM’

God said to Moses, “ I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘ I AM has sent me to you.’ ” [Exodus 3:14 NIV]

When you walk with God something incredible happens. We are privileged that He chooses to reveal Himself in new ways and we learn more about Him. Moses was only in the beginning of a relationship with God when He shared the intimate term ‘I AM’ to describe who He was.

Our personal encounters with God will strengthen us as we walk with Him. God whispers to our heart, truths about who He is, about His character, His perfect words for our imperfect circumstances.

God comforts us when we stumble. God protects us when we require it. God is bigger than we give Him credit for. God is not something or someone that can be contained. Even time cannot control Him. Whenever, wherever, He will always be ‘I AM’.

I AM your provider
I AM your protector
I AM your peace
I AM your all sufficient one
I AM your healer
I AM almighty God
I AM always there
I AM more than able
I AM your strength
I AM your safe place
I AM your Saviour

Jesus said the truth would set us free. When we walk with God, we continuously discover more about Him. The key is that we have to learn to walk in these truths so we enjoy the freedom such truths bring.
